The perfect Campari Spritz recipe

The perfect Campari Spritz is bold, refreshing and bubble-filled! We first tried this classic Italian cocktail in Venice and have loved it ever since.
After our trip to Italy, I returned to Aperol Spritz, where Adam fell for the bold, more painful Campari Spritz. If you like the complex, bittersweet flavor of Campari or enjoy Negronis, I bet you’ll love the Campari Spritz cocktail.
Campari Spritz is less sweet than Aperol Spritz, herbal. If you prefer a dry cocktail with bitter taste like Adam, this may indeed be your favorite cocktail!

Key Ingredients
- Campari: Look for Campari next to liqueurs, such as Amaro. It’s a bold, bitter liqueur with herbal, spicy and citrus flavors. This is not for everyone, but it is great for those who enjoy complex flavors. It often enjoys soda on the rocks, or a key element in a classic cocktail like Negroni.
- Prosecco: Look for Prosecco next to sparkling wine. This Italian blistering wine has a light, crispy and fruity flavor. Looking for Brut on the tag, which means Prosecco is not sweet. Avoid sweeter Prosecco like Prosecco Dolce, which will make your cocktail too sweet. I’m looking for a mid-range Prosecco (like when buying sparkling wines from mimosa). Small batch manufacturers or bottles that usually mention Doc or Docg labels are usually more delicious if you can find them. If you have a local wine shop, please ask the staff for guidance and their advice.
- Soda: Regular soda is good. You can also use club soda with minerals and salt added (I prefer this flavor) or your favorite gleaming water brand.
How to make Campari Spritz
Classic Campari Spritz recipes use a ratio of 3-2-1: This means Prosecco, 2 parts Campari and 1 part soda. This mixture offers you a delicious drink that is not overly sweet.

If you find Campari is too bitter, you can adjust the recipe. To reduce bitterness, please have less Campari and more Prosecco. If you want low-alcoholic beverages, reduce Prosecco and Campari a little and add more soda. If Campari’s bitterness doesn’t work for you and you prefer something sweeter, try to make our Aperol Spritz use instead.
When making the Campari big spout, I filled my wine glass with ice. Then I first add the campari, then the prosecco, and finally top with soda. A fresh slice of orange makes for the perfect decoration. You can stir the drink gently, but be careful not to over-stir. You want to keep those cute Prosecco bubbles!

The perfect Campari Spritz
We love the classic Campari Spritz Spritz Cocktail recipes with Campari, Prosecco and Soda Water. We have tried it first in Italy since and loved it. Campari Spritz is bitter and has a citrusy herb. It is bold, refreshing, effervescent (blister).

Adam and Joanne’s Tips
- Prosecco: We recommend using medium distances or additional Brut Prosec. Sweet styles will make the cocktail too sweet.
- Soda: Use soda, soda or your favorite soda. I love the soda club because it adds a little salt and I think that will make this cocktail taste better.
- Adjust your taste: Campari tastes bitter. If you find the pain overwhelmed, reduce Campari slightly and increase Prosecco. For less bitter cocktails, replace Campari with Aperol for a sweeter flavor.
