Perfect Cheese Pizza Recipe

My family loves this homemade cheese pizza recipe! It is made with two types of cheese and has been repeated in our homes for years. This extra cheesy pizza is perfect for any pizza lover and occasion.

Are you ready to make the best homemade cheese pizza we’ve ever made? This recipe has become a homemade pizza for our family. It’s very simple, so good!

We have a lot of pizza recipes about inspiring flavors. Check out our margarita pizza, this simple big bread pizza, or if you’re looking for homemade dough, that pizza dough.

Key Ingredients

  • Dough: I like to use homemade pizza dough recipes, but any store-bought dough will work.
  • Sauce: Your favorite store-buyed pizza sauce is perfect! In an emergency, I even used spaghetti sauce. This homemade pizza sauce is also great.
  • cheese: I used chopped mozzarella (not fresh mozzarella) for a classic pizza melt. A bunch of chopped Parmiano-Regiano added a nice salty kick!
  • Toppings: Fresh chives and dried oregano were my go-to choice for cheese pizza. Chives adds a subtle onion flavor, while Oregano gives the classic pizzeria flavor.

How to make cheese pizza

This is how to make my family’s favorite cheese pizza! First we use a good pizza dough and then place it on the counter to heat it a little and then slap it into thin discs. Then, my sauce was very generous (I love this pizza sauce).

Now, pick up a bowl and throw away the cheese, parmesan cheese, chives and oregano together. Then, sprinkle the mixture onto the pizza in large quantities. Last but not least, bake!

I bake the pizza in a very hot oven and then use pizza steel. Since not everyone has one, I included all the tips in the recipe below.

Our best cheese pizza recipe! We use our favorite homemade pizza dough, a garlic pizza sauce, two types of cheese and herbs.

Make 1 large pizza

You will need

1 batch homemade pizza dough or use store-bought dough

4 to 6 tablespoons pizza sauce, try homemade pizza sauce

1 cup (57g) chopped mozzarella instead of fresh mozzarella

1/2 cup (28g) chopped parmesan

1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives

1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

All-purpose flour for dough tray

Dust powder, dust removal pot

direction

1Preheat the oven to 450°Fahrenheit (232°C) at least 30 minutes before you plan to bake the pizza. If so, place the pizza steel or pizza stone in the oven before preheating. Personally, we use higher temperatures, see the Tips section for the idea of what is the best temperature for baking pizza at home.

2If your pizza dough is cold, warm it at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes.

3When preparing to bake a pizza, prepare the pizza fruit or pizza pan with rice and orange flour.

4In a medium bowl, mix the chopped mozzarella, parmesan, chives and oregano together.

5Flour the clean work surface with all-purpose flour and then turn the pizza dough into a round shape, large enough to fit your pizza peel or pan. To stretch the dough, avoid pushing it out as this flattens the bubbles formed. Instead, start with your fingers from the center and then exercise outward. Carefully stretch and push the dough to fit your pizza pan or rind. Use a slight touch to maintain as many air pockets in the dough as possible.

6Transfer the dough to your pizza fruit or pan and if it is shortened a little, reform it.

7Spread the pizza sauce over the pizza, leaving thin edges to make the crust unpopular. Sprinkle the cheese mixture over the sauce.

8Bake until the crust is solidified, golden brown, and the cheese melts on individual spots for 6 to 15 minutes, depending on the oven temperature. Remove from the oven, cut and serve.

Adam and Joanne’s Tips

  • Oven temperature: We recommend 450°Fahrenheit (232°C) in the recipe, but if you are happy with it, raising the temperature to 550°Fahrenheit (288°C) will provide better results. If you have a ventilation hood above your oven, turn it on high. When our oven is heated to such a high temperature, the fire alarm occasionally goes out due to the hot air escaping when the oven door is opened. Aside from the noise, it wasn’t a problem, and in our experience it was corrected among several fans of cutlery towels near the alarm, but it’s something worth considering. If 550°Fahrenheit (288°C) is too high for you, feel free to use lower temperatures. However, remember that this pizza is best baked between 425°Fahrenheit and 550°Fahrenheit (218°C to 288°C). The lower the temperature, the longer it takes to bake and the less time it takes to bubble.
