Best Classic Mimosa Recipe

Mimosa is one of the easiest and refreshing brunch cocktails You can do it at home. This is my favorite Mimosa recipe and there are many tips to help you make it the best.
Mimosa is a classic brunch cocktail! They are easy to make and I share some tips below, including using for parties, the best wines and my favorite orange juice.
The best mimosa ratio is equal to the shiny wine and orange juice. Use this ratio when making a mimosa cocktail or serving the crowd. A bottle of sparkling wine will make eight mimosa. When making mimosa, be sure to add sparkling wine first and then orange juice. This way, when you pour in, the cocktails will mix together and will not stick to the top of the glass. You can watch me do this in our video.
Key Ingredients
- Sparkling wine: I use refrigerated dry wine as mimosa. Choose the wine you really enjoy. You don’t need to break the bank (I spent $20-35 on sparkling wine for mimosa). Use Champagne, Cava (from Spain), American sparkling wine or dry prosecco (from Italy). We used Brut champagne in our video. Cava and Prosecco are usually the cheapest.
- Orange juice: I love fresh orange juice, such as cocktails like mimosa. It tastes fresher, lighter, and softer than anything in the store. That is, when we pinch, we will use the “simple” brand of orange juice.
- Elective: Add a little liqueur and make a big mimosa with big manil, or add a raspberry flavor with chambord.
How to make a mimosa brunch
Mimosa is the perfect crowd brunch cocktail. Relax in the refrigerator before your guests arrive. Then, if your guests want one, or make a separate mimosa before serving, slowly pour a bottle of sparkling wine into a pitcher and pour 3 cups of spicy orange juice.
With our 1:1 mimosa ratio, a bottle of wine produces 8 mimosa. Remember, if you use the pitching method, wait until the last minute as you will lose some carbonation.
Changes in Mimosa Cocktails
- Add cranberry, pineapple or pomegranate juice.
- Replace some orange juice with blood orange or grapefruit juice.
- Add a tablespoon of peach or strawberry puree to the bottom of each champagne flute.
- Add chopped fresh fruits such as strawberries, blueberries and orange slices.
- Add a tablespoon of liqueur, such as Grand Marnier or Chambord (for French-style mimosa).
Mimosa Non-Alcohol Cocktail: To make non-alcoholic mimosa mimosa, use soda water or flavored water instead of sparkling wine. The non-alcoholic shimmering grape juice is also popular. For another pocket cocktail, see our Bubble Grapefruit Non-Alcohol Cocktail.

The best classic mimosa
This is my favorite mimosa recipe. The ratio is simple: equally shiny wine and orange juice. Mimosa is perfect for brunch, birthday, holiday and wedding.
For the best mimosa, use a dry glitter wine instead of a sweet wine. Look for “dry” or “brut” on the bottle. The recipe will be used with champagne, Spanish cava, prosecco and American sparkling wine. Use what you like.
