Perfect Honey Butter Recipe

My homemade honey butter is very simple and tastes great! I like to spread it on toasts, muffins, scones and pancakes. My family gets so excited when we have this honey butter in our house. Very good!

I almost firmly believe that this simple honey butter can make everything better. This is easy to make and lasts in the refrigerator for a month (although my family did it before that).

Try my Honey Apple Butter or Maple Pumpkin Butter for more recipes like this. Both are very delicious! I also like to eat this honey butter with homemade English muffins or fluffy cookies.

Key Ingredients

  • Honey: I use pure honey as homemade honey butter and use a brand that my family already likes. I like supporting local honey producers and highly recommend checking if you have anything around you. If you don’t have honey, try maple syrup!
  • butter: I like this recipe like Kerrygold or Plagra like Kerrygold or Plagra. You can use unsalted, but consider adding some salt to balance the sweetness of the honey.
  • Cinnamon: I like a little spice of ground cinnamon. This is optional, but it’s great! Share more suggestions on encrypting this encryption below.

How to make honey butter

Homemade honey butter is very easy to make using a handheld electric mixer or stand mixer. Simply stir the room temperature butter with honey and cinnamon. You can do this manually, but make sure your butter is indeed soft. Remember, butter isn’t that lightweight (although it’s still delicious).

How to Make Honey Butter: Made Honey in Butter to Make Honey Butter

The honey, butter and cinnamon combo is my go-to recipe, but you might like some variations:

  • To make orange butter, add one to two teaspoons of freshly ground orange peel.
  • Make cinnamon butter and add an extra 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon powder, or use pumpkin pie spices.
  • Make it more exciting and add a small pinch of fresh black pepper.
  • Make it spicy and use hot honey or add some chili (1/8 tsp is a great starting point).
  • Make maple butter with 1/4 cup pure maple syrup instead of honey.

Use honey butter whenever you use butter. Spread it on bread, toast, English muffins, cookies and scones, or serve with pancakes. I also prefer morning oatmeal.

You can even cook with it. I like to throw away with roasted vegetables or add them to roasted sweet potatoes. Consider using it with chopped garlic for honey butter shrimp or chicken!

Adam and Joanne’s Tips

  • butter: We like to do European style butter (such as Kerrygold or Plugra).
  • Soft Butter: You will need softened room temperature butter. Keep the butter at room temperature for about an hour. Cut the butter into small pieces and cover it with a bowl to speed up the process. If your kitchen is cold, put hot water on the bowl and wipe it briefly dry before covering it with butter.
